Step Toward Your Ultimate Dreams

Step Toward Your Ultimate Dreams. What does this phrase mean to you? Who, why, what, when, where, and how is my suggestion for you to “step toward your ultimate dreams” and reach your goals. It boils down to action on your part and even baby steps toward your dreams. Some days, the vision is cloudy, while other days it is so “in your face” nothing else matters. Finding your own path is what happens when you use my suggestion.

Who Do You Want To Travel With?

So, what does this question mean to you? Everyone is different, yet you search for finding your own path to improve your life and travel and step toward your ultimate dreams. Aaahh, finding a group or individuals that have the same mindset you do is a very good start. They do carry different titles: mentor, cheerleader, encourager, friend, even family members. In this way, you can step toward your ultimate dreams.

They empower your thinking and help you discover “your true path” for yourself. No one travels toward their dreams alone. As you discover your path, you are also educating yourself through books, films, videos and online resources. The hardest part is realizing that there are circumstances and people that don’t want you to succeed and try to foil your plans. Your path has obstacles in it.

Step toward your ultimate dreams and step over or go around these obstacles. Sometimes the obstacles are things out of your control. Whether or not you can control the situation, stay focused on your goals. I had to change my priority after my landlady had passed.

You grow in your confidence with these situations and learn from them. My personal phrase that I use is, “Keep on keeping on.” What phrase would you use? The struggle will be worth it, in the end. Focus on the bright light of your ultimate dreams, at these times.

Why Are You Even Focusing On Your Dreams?

My answer is, “Why not?” because the journey that you choose can have you step toward your ultimate dreams. Life can be very rewarding for those that do this. Look at sports, music, civil rights movements and others that have focused on their dreams to become great leaders and spokespeople for causes.

Step Toward Your Dreams Confidently--a button that states, "Dreams don't work unless you do."

Your dream may not be as big as theirs, but it is still your dream. Think about it and step toward your ultimate dreams confidently! They didn’t get handed their success, they worked for it. Further, I find that another saying I like to use is, “Dreams don’t work unless you do.”

So, where do you start? I started with online searches. It was a time-consuming search for me at that time, too. Not a one was a scam, but they required either more knowledge or more money. I had little knowledge of how to do websites and no more money to give. At that time, I was able to get refunds (not anymore) from some of the offers I had wanted to follow up on.

The reason I was getting refunds was because I had just talked to a person on the phone after giving my information online. She sounded real and was interested in me. That was different. I had to wait for my paycheck to come in to pursue this chance. And that’s how I started. No one told me to “step toward your ultimate dreams,” but after experiencing this online business as a partner, I am happy and grateful that I did.

Maybe you need to take a course in a specific subject at a local junior college. My son had just graduated 8th grade. So, I insisted that he take a summer typing course. (This was before laptops were in the schools.) Yes, he grumbled, but found Mom was right. Sometimes your dreams are built upon learning simple skills that allow your new skills to grow with confidence. This is why I say to step toward your ultimate dreams. (By the way, he received an “A” in the typing course in high school after taking that summer typing class.)

In addition, he had also learned many other things besides typing. Going to class was not hard, but I had to make sure he was ready for class. This was discipline, organization and consistency on both of our parts. School was a 15-minute drive from home, too. I was a substitute teacher at that time and could make sure he was in class (initiative and persistence) during the summer. This exemplifies my idea of “step toward your ultimate dreams.”

What Goals Do You Want to Achieve While You “Step Toward Your Ultimate Dreams?”

And, yes, I am using a portion of the 12 business guidelines from Organic Networker because it describes the situation so well. It is another example of the self-help books that have helped me be successful with my own business. The other book I rely on is Marketing is Freedom. Learning new skills was imperative for me because I was retired and had no online experiences. It became “my new world” and I was learning to “step toward your ultimate dreams.”

This step is a SHIFT in your life.

The “S” represents identifying what’s “not working” and being aware of it.

It could be finances, your routine or even having to move. All of those have an emotional reaction because of it “not working.”

  • Realize that you are emotional about the situation.
  • Do a self-check. Ask yourself, “What’s holding me back?” Answer: Rushing your routine in the morning. Result: You feel stressed before even getting to school or work.
  • Do you have 2 or 3 areas you want to change? Write them down. Follow the rest of the guidelines below. In a race of hurdles, this would be your first hurdle.

The “H” represents highlighting your goals.

My folks would call this the “nitty-gritty” because you have to have S-M-A-R-T goals.

  • S = specific = clear and exact goal = I want to improve my English test scores.
  • M = measurable = track your progress = Raise my English test score from 75 to 84.
  • A = achievable = challenge yourself, keep it realistic = in basketball, being short usually means you are picked last, but if you improve your free throw percentage, then you would not be picked last.
  • R = relevant = your goals should be personal, help support your bigger goals and have value for you. Practice those free throws, rather than art projects.
  • T = time deadlines = this gives urgency and helps your focus on the goal. Even a race has its own deadline–crossing the finish line.

I have my own goal written on paper, too. Having a goal with a date is great, but you must put action into it to accomplish your goal. No, I wasn’t able to accomplish my goal, but I am not discouraged. I know that I will need to “give it more effort” and repeat the goal and time frame. (I didn’t learn to shot free throws the first time, either.) Can you list 3 goals following this guideline? Then you have made a step toward your ultimate dreams and finding your own path.

The “I” represents doing small changes.

Ways to take action with small steps include:

  • Tiny habits (getting up 5 minutes earlier gives you time to look for your shoes)
  • Learn “new habits” by adding things that take 5 minues or less (putting your shoes in a specific place, which results in less time looking for your shoes)
  • Realize it’s important to put your shoes consistently in the same place. (If not, then you already have those 5 minutes to look for them.)
  • Put a check-mark on your calendar for every day that you placed your shoes in a specific place.
  • You have begun to reduce the initiall “balk” at changing your routine and have eased the stress of “Where are my shoes?” It’s easier to change using smaller pieces of the whole thing and still reach your goals. Sure, eat that elephant one bite at a time, not the whole elephant at once!

The “F” represents focus on your progress.

  • Celebrate your small wins. They will multiply over time.
  • Setbacks will occur. Once you start, continue your forward progress. Keep on Keeping on to reach your goals.
  • “You have this!” is great self-talk at a weak moment.
  • Give ideas to yourself-and use them-for constant forward progress. Focus means just that. I used to try and clean the house and would go from room to room and it seemed no room was ever straightened up. Then I realized that I was “doing it to myself.” I made a list of what needed done in one room and followed it. I was more focused and felt better, too. My lists became my “helper” and the house and I were more organized!
  • If you have been “‘that shoes person,” look at how many times you have put a check-mark on your calendar. That’s visible improvement! Great Job!

The “T” represents your tracking and adjusting of your goals.

Stay motivated with these guidelines to step toward your ultimate dreams:

  • Find a quiet time to review your weekly progress.
  • List what you see works for you. Do the same for what doesn’t work for you.
  • If need be, change your goals to align with your personal choices.
  • When you do fail, realize that the goal has to be redone. It’s not a failure when you recognize that something doesn’t work for you. Accomodate yourself.
  • Your “works for you” list should be longer than your “doesn’t work for you” list. Consider the “Why” if it isn’t. Again, change what your goals are. They are a guide for you to improve and reach your goals. The way to improve is to ask yourself questions about your personal progress on this journey. SHIFT, if necessary.

Keep a personal journal of your progress with goal-setting. You will get better with it as you practice. Note that this is a daily challenge. This aspect may be the first SHIFT that you do for yourself. Realize that it does take personal determination for you to SHIFT. Your goal is worth it and YOU are worth it, too. Never Quit on yourself! It bears repeating, take a step toward you ultimate dreams.

From Back Then to Now

When I was younger, I wanted to be able to travel further than we could drive. Our family would take driving trips during the summer when our parents had their vacations. My parents must have planned well, because we were always interested in “where are we going this time” attitude.

So, my goal probably started with the unforgettable travel experience I had when younger. It was just so exciting to go visit my grandparents. We didn’t have pets and Grandmother had a dog! But, my first goal when I started my business was (LOL) to be able to travel the world. Little did I know!

Obviously, my goals have been re-examined and become more explicit and with deadlines. A phrase used in my online business is, “Get Out of Your Way.” Until I had had some experience with owning my own business, that phrase did not make sense to me. Now, I know.

Brain Neuroplasticity Challenge

Even so, I challenge everyone to check into this newer idea of brain neuroplasticity. This comes from the scientific side of our world amd may interest you.

  • The Stress-Proof Brain, by Melanie Greenberg. The book discusses “mastering stress, use mindfulness and Neuroplasticity.” (Prices start below $10.)
  • Neuroplasticity, by Moheb Costandi. This is for people like me, just wanting to read about it. this book is a concise overview of neuroplasticity and explains how it works. (Prices start above $10.)
  • The Public Broadcasting System features neuroplasticity in educational programming, too. It’s on YouTube TV and is available without a subscription. Subscriptions to the Public Broadcasting System are optional.

Books are available from $7 to $30 on Neuroplasticity and have various titles with the word “Super Power” used often. Scientists have indicated that the nervous system changes its activity within its connections, functions and structure, dependent on the stimuli given the brain. Every day rewires changes in the brain.

Step Toward Your Ultimate Dreams--image of an active brain in use.

These activities include new connections that form. Pathways that get stronger and flexible routing develops (I have always called it “changing gears”). It includes the growth of new brain cells throughout your lifetime. This is referred to as neurogenesis (involved in learning and memory areas).

In other words, this gives me a push to grow my business and reach my goals, too. Every day I use my knowledge gained from continuous learning with Meetn and live meetings, too. My personal instructor (yes, that’s the way it’s set up) refers to the learning as “golden nuggets.” I have to agree!

In addition, every time I knew of a business meeting, I was there. I also discovered study halls, too. These helped my brain to become more business-oriented. Now, as I look back, I can see my growth in confidence. Instead of hating the idea of changes, I was finding success with my educated changes.

How Can You Step Toward Your Ultimate Dreams?

This answer is dependent upon your goals and their deadlines. When I started my own online business, my deadlines were not reasonable because I was such a “newbie” to online business.

This step toward your ultimate dreams is also dependent upon the amount of time you can apply to the business. That is definitely one of the pluses of this business. You can set up the time that you want to give to this business. It truly depends on your personal situation.

My own situation had two major setbacks within a year. It was like dominoes falling when my landlady suffered with Alzheimer’s. I became her unofficial caretaker. She passed six months later. That brought another six months of dealing with the family and the repercussion of finding somewhere else to live.

You know, life happens. I didn’t give up, though. I was able to find another residence that I could afford, too. For most of us, we have to revamp our thinking process and focus. I choose positive affirmations to help me change my mindset. You would be able to step toward your ultimate dreams with positive affirmations, too.

Where Does Such a Business Exist That Allows Such Freedoms?

Why would you pick this business over any other online business, you ask? Well, I had to trust what I was being told. It was the truth. Yes, I had to work. But, what drew me the most was that I was in charge. After years of being an employee, I became a business partner and an owner of my own blog site. Perhaps the following video will help answer your questions.

The Performance Blogging system is a way to reach your goals. Enjoy the challenges that make finding your own path memorable. Your personal time and financial rewards can make you smile! This opportunity just may be the answer for you.

I enjoy being in a group of positive, like-minded people. You make lasting friendships and get paid for doing what you enjoy doing. The best part? It’s a way for me to enjoy my life and the business is a legacy for my family.

Step Toward Your Ultimate Dreams

Focus on these timely things to start.

#1) This Week

  • Pick 2 or 3 things that “aren’t working” the way you want.
  • Choose only 1 of the 3.
  • Then, ask, “What’s really holding me back here?” Write it down, if that will help.

#2) For the Next 7 Days

  • Use that “1” and follow S-M-A-R-T guidelines (above)
  • Give yourself 30 days as your deadline
  • When you begin, this “1” may be all the SHIFT you can do. You are trying to “pull yourself out of a mudhole, one step at a time.” Progress Forward!

#3) The One Bite or “Tiny Habit”

  • Isn’t there something that takes 5 minutes or less (Empty your pockets at the end of the day?)
  • Do it at the same time each day to establish this new habit
  • Have a calendar and checkmark every day this is completed

#4) The Best Part = Celebrate!

  • Choose the day you want to celebrate and review your PROGRESS! Sunday works for a lot of us.
  • This is a personal choice! I pick a TV program that I enjoy. You know yourself well.
  • Here is a tip from my business guru, Rory. He states in his book Marketing is Freedom, that it takes Re-Set, Re-Focus and Re-Commit to keep on track. These 3 things keep him going if something isn’t working. It’s the system for him that works.

#5) Here’s the Bottom Line

  • Start with your Step #1). Things are easier to change when you do one thing at a time. Pick that “one thing.”
  • Preferably a small “thing.”
  • Build from there. (Think of the Pyramids and how they were built!) Give yourself that solid foundation of new habits.
