Food Food Food and eating brings memories of family celebrations. We always seemed to have many choices such as cheeses and meats. There was always mashed potatoes, veggies, and desserts at our celebrations. Or, we had simple family meals. When I was younger, we always raced to the dinner table after washing our hands.

Assigned seats, since I was a lefty. It has not changed over the years. We loved our meals and enjoyed Mother’s cooking. But, Daddy’s special was always on Sunday–fried chicken. Yes, I had both parents as I grew up along with two sisters. It was definitely a full house.

The routine was to change outfits after church, make sure our rooms were straight and Daddy was the chief cook in the kitchen. By the time we smelled the chicken cooking, we knew it was almost time for lunch. The Sunday funnies were what I read before we ate, so I could respond quickly to “Go wash your hands” and get to the table.

Holiday Times and Cookies

Peaches and cookies after-meal dessert

In addition, our house turned into a “cookie factory” from Labor Day until Christmas every year. Mother had several cookies recipes that she used to bake and freeze. These she saved to give to the family at Christmas. During this time, I always enjoyed the peaches and chocolate chip cookies after a meal. So delicious.

It seemed that our house was always about food. But, she was always baking the fresh cookies to gift to our friends and families during the Holiday season. Their smiles were always present when Mother and Daddy would present cookies as a gift. Our house had the most wonderful aroma during this time! (I now have those recipes.)

I still try to bake some of my favorite cookie recipes during the holidays. The kitchen takes on the same aroma I remember. My son requested a copy of the chocolate chip cookies recipe and I informed him it was still on the package of the chocolate chips that he had bought. He smiled and said, “Thanks. I’ll be baking soon.” (Hope he gives me some of those cookies.)

Window Shopping While Grocery Shopping

One of the most unusual offers from this company is something they call “Drops.” This happens every Monday through Friday at 7:00 pm EST. Prices are in the range of $8.00 to $12.00 for things that could easily be 10 times greater. Talk about having discounts galore! When you can save a double-digit number on any purchase, go for it!

They have added another level of interest with something called Mystery Boxes. These aren’t new, just a different way to present them. And everybody loves a Mystery Box, especially when you get more bang for your buck. From the comfort of your home, you are able to receive one of these.

Nola’s Notes–Now, before you actually dive into a Mystery Box, lets give it some thought with these questions?

  • Shipping costs (free?)?
  • Is there a base value (so important)?
  • Are product categories clear (good to know)?
  • Is the average retail value disclosed (important)?
  • Return policy (if any)?
  • Real customer reviews (what do others think of this)?
  • Can my budget handle this purchase? (My budget has the Yes/No on this question.)

If you are not trusting of your source, think about a deeper level of concern with these additional questions before spending hundreds of dollars:

  • Mystery Box Value? At this company, you are assured that the small and large boxes have a golden nugget worth $50. XL has 2 of them.
  • Condition of Items — New or Refurbished? The category is stated on their site.
  • Brand Authenticity Guaranteed? Their products are from pallet and Gaylord sources.
  • Fake Reviews Check This may come down to your own due diligence. I suggest you may want to research the seller on Trustpilot or Sitejabber.
  • Payment Protection Use secure payment options like PayPal or credit cards that offer buyer protection. If you question the validity of your purchase, trust your gut.

Get Set Up. Please note, there is a free membership, but an optional upgrade exists. You receive more benefits with this membership level. (Yes, I did this, too.) Multiple benefits. One membership. Go see for yourself.
