Helping Hands. This page has to do with what can be accomplished in business when a group or just two people help businesses. Help is necessary for success. In order to be successful, I feel that assistance has to be offered and accepted. Then, the journey begins.
Where Helping Hands Idea Came From
One of my dreams had been to use the 3-D printer to make a copy of “praying hands” from pictures of anyone’s hands in that position. I did not want a generic look–I was thinking of the special effects from theater and film. Then I realized I did not have the business knowledge or the tools to do such a thing. Even the money, OMG. Millions.
Then I thought of sending back to individuals a “do-it-yourself” kit, and I again hit an unsurmountable mountain of “ifs,” “thens” and “funding.” I had envisioned that they would send me a picture, I would 3-D print it, then send back to them the color(s), hair, etc. from their written description and picture. This way, it would be one-of-a-kind just for them. Furthermore, everyone has some One that has been a helping hand for them in their lives. We always remember them, too.
Who Helps?
While researching, I read an article about two men that expanded their lives by being helping hands. Such a rare thing for me to find two people to work with online, then discover two other individuals that were the same type of individuals willing to offer resources and information for other businesses to succeed in business and life.
These first two men come from Delaware. The source of my information is from an online newspaper out of Delaware, reported by Anitra Johnson, (lead story, 1 of 3) Delaware News Journal. In this article, she introduces Malcolm Coley and Newdy Felton, co-founders of the Wilmington-based marketing company Influencers Lab Media.
Envision a bowling ball going down the bowling lane, heading for a strike of all ten pins. That’s what COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 was all about. However, it was a wrecking ball of upheaval. Even Coley and Felton found their Plan A morphing into Plan B. Their marketing company, Influencers Lab Media, already had an online presence. But when Covid-19 came along, the struggling Black-owned businesses needed to adapt to the online business angle. This was a new twist to business, one which most weren’t prepared. These two went to work.
Developing Opportunities
They changed their focus into giving support on Facebook. And through their online presence, e-commerce site and a website, they were able to make a difference. Others in the Black-owned businesses needed the same information that they already knew. So, Influencers Lab Media used Facebook for networking, exchanging information and even developing opportunities. Their Facebook group, Spending Black Matters, zoomed to 10,0000 people in a month. Now, member count is 33,000 (2021 saw over 40 chapters in the U.S. and Canada).
Survival is key in the Black community. Spending Black Matters holds a yearly marketplace. It is a free event showcasing Black-owned small businesses allowing an abundance of professional services and products. This includes auto accessories, beauty, food, fashion and health wellness. Discussions of business aspects of finances (both management and expenses) along with marketing strategies for new business owners were available. The marketplace was held at East Side Charter School in Wilmington, giving the opportunity for “all to come together and share ideas and make each other successful,” Kennedy Scott, participant, stated.
Negatives still exist for the Black-owned businesses and credit access is a major impediment for all and especially women of color. Both men feel that the goals of diversity, equity and inclusion [this year’s theme (2024) for the National Women’s History Month of March] must start within their own community. They also want to “give access, create an ecosystem for black businesses…that will sustain us”…to “hire folks that look like us,” Coley said. They are changing the landscape of Delaware with their vision.
Other Helping Hands
Rory Ricord and Tanya Ricord want to pay it forward and change the world one family at a time. Rory wrote a book, Marketing is Freedom. He has six sections in this book that details how he started on his journey and all the way to the creation of his PBS system. First, the PBS (Performance Blogging System) is his answer for individuals to gain wealth. Second, he has outlined the path to take that wealth and leave it as a legacy for your family. Third, he wants to expand and offer that same wealth to others so they can also have time and financial freedom.
Many mentors traveled through Rory’s life, expanding his knowledge base of how things worked. He began to notice that he enjoyed wine and found the process of making wine similar to making beer. Then, he began to understand the marketing process of wines and found his own niche in the world of marketing.
Helping Hands and The Growth of PBS
I know there are people that exemplify this idea of helping hands. I realized that I was participating in an online business with just such a person. In fact, two heads are better than one. His wife, Tanya, in this instance. Tanya organizes their home-life of seven children and her own business interests, also. Their combined effort of helping others shows in Velovita promoting Rory and Tanya Ricord to North America-Master Distributors in 2024. What a team!
His mind is more technical than most and he was always in the forefront of the computer growth in the 1990’s, no matter what job description he was doing. He became more involved in trying to improve his computer application skills as computers were being transformed from having a footprint of 2,000 to 10,000 square feet (IBM, 1980’s) to the cellular phone and laptops of today in 2023. In addition, automated programs allow the computers to run faster. Accessories were also down-sized, yet held more storage as needs for information grew.
Rory found a co-partner in Tanya that understood his mind-set. Tanya’s own mind-set was one of organization and planning. Between the two, they started tweaking the PBS system. They were trying to provide an “easier path” of growth in the PBS system over the years. Therefore, since the 1990’s Rory and Tanya have been working, tweaking and improving the PBS system to where it is today.
They strive to reward the efforts of the partners that join them in this journey. As partners are educated, understanding becomes clearer and self-improvement is evident. Then, all partners do better and all gain in financial wealth and time freedom. There is no limit of the number of partners that can join the PBS system, either.
Moving Onward and Upward
They take the time to help you through the PBS system to success, too. Consequently, meetings, motivation and continual upgrading of the PBS system keeps everyone moving toward greater success. Therefore, when others succeed, then Tanya and Rory have succeeded in their goals.
“Plus, as you end each day with a note of gratitude, celebration and a smile over the little wins, you will have habits of winning that will really drive the success to meet you in your journey. I have coined a direct reminder of this mental tool and habit for success of RRR247. Reset, Refocus, Recommit, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is a mindset for success, using the mental tools of RRR all the time.” Marketing Is Freedom, page 80.
Therefore, PBS is an opener of doors, dreams and goals to successful accomplishments in one’s life.
Conclusion
Finally, everyone has had to have a Helping Hand at some time in their life. Sometimes, it turned into a mentor for them. I just wanted to highlight these four people because of their success in helping people. They “get it” and a heart-felt thank you for your “helping hands” attitudes.
